I would say getting over growing up in a militaristic environment there’s a hierarchy of what one does, you’re a private, then you’re a corporal, then you’re a sergeant, and all that. Meanwhile Collider talked to Chris Pine (Captain Kirk), who discussed his character's mindset in the film: In fact, I was on the fence about doing the movie until I spoke with Justin. It was a breath of fresh air, and I really appreciated Justin's intimate knowledge and understanding of the character dynamics. So I had a decision to make, and it was talking with Justin that enabled me to commit to it. I had a conflicting schedule, and I had a decision to make about which film to do, and I was no longer under contract to do a third picture. Though it seems we were lucky to get the good doctor back at all! Like, not a big one, but it's there, and it's a direct nod to DeForest. You'll see at the end of the film, I'm wearing an open shirt, and I've got a medallion on. I love when he reappears, and he's got this huge beard and this big medallion around his chest - and his chest hair! I love that! I actually put a nod to that in Star Trek Beyond. The most entertaining is surely IGN's with Karl Urban (aka Doctor McCoy), who revealed he managed to work in a reference to The Motion Picture, when talking about that being his favourite Trek film: opening of the film next month, July 22, 2016.Meanwhile the cast and crew have been busy doing interviews. We’re thinking some artists should try their hands at creating character posters for the earlier films. Follow the San Diego Comic-Con website for details and a chance to get tickets. The San Diego Symphony Orchestra will perform the score and the cast will make an appearance. The world premiere will be at Comic-Con this year, Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Embarcadero Marina Park, shown in IMAX. These are pretty sharp and definitely the style we’d expect as giveaways at Comic-Con. Can you spot them? Will it have an impact on their collectability and future value? Note that the Sulu and Uhura posters have a pretty glaring error. This is in addition to a teaser poster, a Star Trek: The Motion Picture-inspired poster that appears to be the official standard release poster, and an international release poster reminiscent of one of the posters for Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. In this 50th year of Star Trek, Paramount has issued a new set of movie posters for display at movie theaters and other public display areas for the 13th film in the franchise, Star Trek Beyond, this time featuring Kirk, Spock, Bones, Uhura, Scotty, Chekov, and new featured aliens Sofia Boutella’s Jaylah and Idris Elba’s Krall. The marketing team followed up with two sets of character posters for the 2013 sequel Star Trek Into Darkness, including action shots for each of Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Scotty, Chekov, and newcomers Khan and Carol Marcus. In 2008 hundreds of fans waited at the Paramount booth at San Diego Comic-Con to land a set of four featuring Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Uhura. Since the first Star Trek reboot movie Paramount Pictures has presented fans with some attractive individual character posters.
